We start painting.

Although we seem to be spending most of our time getting settled in and planning, we are starting to do some actual work on our home.
We’ve spent a lot of time thinking through the color palette for the living/dining/kitchen areas. Since they are functionally one space, we want the colors to work together.
We’re eager to get rid of the blue which you can see in the panel behind Gary, as well as on the fireplace. We like the drama of the red but want to use the warm Yolo colors.
As you can see we’ve started repainting the back wall of the living room/dining rooms in Clay 4 of Yolo paints. Though the color looks pretty orange in the picture, it has a nice warm tone in real life. We’re conteplating using some of the grain series as well. Stay tuned.
We’re getting set to have some much needed electrical work done and have also made a preliminary call to the local solar/alternative energy guy about what our options are.
Things are moving along slow but sure.
