Our understanding is that a black floor requires constant cleaning if you wax it. Our house came with the black floor, we have not waxed it, and it hasn't been a problem.

This may be because the black tile has small grayish specks in it that help hide the dirt. It's hard to tell if you're looking at dirt or the pattern of the tile.

The floor on the upper level is more of a Grey, and it is new. We're going to ask the floor installer for advice on maintaining it at some point, but at this time we are not planning on waxing it.

Hello, I'm thinking about a black/charcoal epoxy floor which would create a similar effect to your floor. But I've read that a black floor requires constant cleaning, otherwise it looks dirty. Is this your experience too?

Thanks so much!

Tracy,

We can’t argue about the house being a gem, we certainly agree that it is. Now we have to figure out how to polish it.

Let us know the next time you are in La Grande. We’ll have you over so you can see the windows up close.

      Gary and Anne

Wow…Stunning home, just stunning. The living room windows are To Die For. You found an utter gem :)

I’m contemplating a move to LaGrande…I’ve been in Seattle, Yakima, Newport…and Eastern Oregon is hollering…

Found your site from lagrandeonline.com…Mid Century Modern caused my ears to perk…

So - just had to shout out…I am in total awe of those windows :)

      Best of luck…
